Are you familiar with CVE programs? CVE stands for "countering violent extremism" and the U.S. government has launched CVE programs as an anti-terrorism initiative. The program is aimed at preventing individuals from joining “violent extremist” groups, but in reality the program may be counterproductive by endangering civil rights. The Arab American Summit will feature a session on CVE programs so participants can understand the program and learn important advocacy steps to prevent some harmful effects.
